Oily rags are considered hazardous
Disposal of oil soaked rags
If your business is producing oil, chances are you will also be left with oil soaked rags. As there is no way to effectively wash and reuse these, when it comes to disposal, they are considered hazardous – even if they have since dried.
This means that you need to dispose of oil rags at a recycling facility that is licenced to accept hazardous waste, just as you would with the waste oil and oil filters.
